Hi there and welcome. I’m truly honoured to have a moment of your time and attention.

I am an American expat who has put down roots in the north of England for the past 7 years, and Americana Rose is where I attempt to make sense of it all.

With no real roadmap, blueprint or recipe for success, I’ve somehow managed to live the life of my wildest dreams. I’m a wife of twenty years, a mom to 3 teenagers (2 of which are in uni) and 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I’m always chasing beauty—whether it’s in a story, a dish, something I’ve created by hand, thrifted from an antique store or ordered on Amazon. (ha)

I write fiction and nonfiction for women who crave depth—tales of strong characters and essays on what I’ve learned from the medieval halls of ancient castles or bustling European markets. I cook meals that blend my American comfort with the flavours I’ve discovered around the world, like steamy grits elevated with English cheddar or my daddy’s sweet tea steeped with Yorkshire Gold. I decorate my house with inspiration I’ve found everywhere from old French farmhouses to the local pub.

My travels will influence what you find here but not in the way of travel guides. More in the way of how to bring home the places you love and find hardest to leave.

After years of juggling family and finding my footing in a land far far away, this is my space to share what I’ve built—a life that is chaotic, rich and worth celebrating.
